The city of Boulder is hosting an on-campus open house on Monday, Oct. 29, to present proposed bike and pedestrian improvements to three busy intersections, Colorado Avenue and Regent Drive, 29th Street and Baseline Road, and 30th Street and Colorado Avenue. This will include updates on a planned underpass at 30th and Colorado.
The open house is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sustainability, Energy and Environment Community (SEEC) building on East Campus.

Our group wants to plan out and organize a community garden plot or possibly many small plots throughout campus. Please help us gather data on its use and location! The goal is to have somewhere for students to be able to grow their own food and spend more time in nature.

Eligible students/scholars are welcome to submit up to three photos for a chance to win a prize. Entrants are encouraged to submit photos that reflect IEW’s mission of promoting international and intercultural understanding.
The deadline to submit photos is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. Please read the rules and eligibility requirements carefully before submitting.
Three winners will be selected from Education Abroad submissions, and three winners will be selected from International Student & Scholar submissions. Winners will be honored at an IEW Coffee Hour on Friday, Nov. 9.
Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations is hiring neighborhood ambassadors for University Hill.
Hill neighborhood ambassadors (NA) serve as student leaders, assisting off-campus student tenants with their transition to the University Hill area and, for the majority of Hill student tenants, assistance with their first time living off-campus. NAs provide a network of support for CU students and members of the neighborhood at large by serving as a mentor; connecting students to campus resources; planning programs that will aid in community building efforts; and working with Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations and other campus offices to plan, promote and implement initiatives specifically focused on off-campus student tenants.
Do you want to participate in a study about cognition, emotions and resilience? Are you a teen ages 15–19?
At the Research on Affective Disorders and Development (RADD) Laboratory, we are interested in understanding how certain cognitive abilities, such as being able to pay attention or learn actions that help you achieve goals, may help teenagers to cope with stress and stay healthy.
This is a two-year study. Over the course of the study, you will have two study visits at our laboratory in Boulder, each lasting about five hours. During these visits you will be interviewed about your life experiences; you will complete some computer games that involve paying attention and learning; you will have a neuroimaging scan while you either rest quietly or play computer games; and you will answer a set of surveys on a computer.
Also as part of the study, you will complete a set of online surveys and a brief telephone interview once every six months (five times total during the two-year study participation). At the end of the study, you will have a final telephone interview, lasting about two hours.
You can earn up to $750 for your time and effort completing the study.

Led by CISC staff, this session focuses on two or more aspects of identity (such as race and gender) as tools of analysis and engages participants in exploring how people can simultaneously navigate social spaces with both dominant and oppressed identities. It seeks to support the building of solidarity with others through understanding the complexity of multiple and intersecting social identities held by self and others.
The October training is set for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in C4C S435.
