As part of the revised academic calendar, Thursday, Oct. 9, is designated as a fall mid-semester reading day—a time for students to reflect, review and prepare for the remainder of the semester. No classes or exams should be held. Athletic events and academically scheduled student events (e.g., concerts, performances) may proceed as scheduled.

Colorado Law, however, follows a different academic calendar. All Colorado Law classes (LAWS 5000 level and above) will be held as usual on Oct. 9.

Friday, Oct. 10, is a regular class day. Faculty are encouraged not to cancel classes or reschedule exams or assignments in anticipation of potentially low attendance ahead of the home football game on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Students are encouraged to honor the intent of the reading day by using the time well and making responsible choices as the weekend begins.

We are seeking current CU Boulder undergraduate students enrolled in the Leeds School of Business who are 18 years and older and proficient in speaking English. Participants cannot be international students. 

You will participate in an entirely voluntary and confidential 30- to 45-minute audio recorded interview. 

The purpose of this research study is to investigate student experiences with and perceptions of generative AI tools in research and information-seeking (IRB protocol #25-0419)

We’re streamlining Buff Bus service for greater efficiency! The Will Vill, Will Vill Limited and Bear Creek loops have been consolidated into a single clockwise route named “Route W: Williams Village.” 

This new route design features mostly right-hand turns to help improve travel time and reliability. It serves both the Darley and Bear Creek stops in Williams Village. Our other Buff Bus routes, including the Stampede and East Campus Express, will continue operating as usual during this phase. See the new routes and schedules for fall 2025.

Zoom has launched new features to improve teaching and learning, including upgraded Canvas integration for auto-publishing recordings and summaries, lecture capture in Self-Service spaces, and the Easy Scheduler for streamlined office hours. Additional useful features such as the AI Companion, smart recordings, voice transcription and enhanced scheduling options help make meetings more accessible, efficient and engaging.

Our campus building access emphasizes safety and building security while providing convenient access for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Most academic buildings with scheduled classes will be open and unlocked between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to allow nonaffiliates access to scheduled events and other activities. 

• Doors unlocked between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. are electronic doors only. Manual-action doors will remain locked at all times and be available for exit only. 
• CU students, faculty and staff will continue to have extended access (from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.) to these same academic buildings via Buff OneCard swipe. 
• A few buildings may maintain slightly different hours based on class schedules and staffing.

Prior access preferences established on Buff OneCards for students, faculty and staff remain in place. Students, faculty and staff who normally have weekend and after-hours access to specific buildings will still have access to those buildings. 

CU affiliates needing special access to a specific building are asked to contact their building proctors, C-CURE operators or department chairs to request the authorization/access needed on their Buff OneCards. 

University Libraries, the Recreation Center, the UMC and Health and Wellness Services publish their respective hours on their websites.

Tips for accessing a building with your Buff OneCard

• Always have your Buff OneCard.
• Depending on the type of card reader, make sure you are either:
  • Swiping with the stripe on the back of your card facing to the right
  • Or tapping the card on the proximity reader with your photo facing toward you

CU Boulder students, faculty and staff will benefit from expanded HOP service as the Boulder Junction Depot Square Station reopens in early September. The updated route strengthens local transit connections and supports sustainable travel options. 

New HOP service areas

• Pearl Parkway (30th to Junction Place)
• Junction Place/32nd Street (Pearl Parkway to Walnut)
• Walnut Street (32nd to 30th)

The HOP still runs every 15 minutes during peak hours. The HOP buses connect CU Boulder, University Hill, downtown and 29th Street Mall.

Apple's private Wi-Fi address feature, introduced in macOS Sequoia and updated for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, could cause connectivity issues for CU Boulder Wi-Fi networks if not set to "off." If you're having trouble with this, learn more through the Office of Information Technology.

For Chromebooks, the entire Microsoft Office suite can be downloaded from the Google Play store, at no charge, using your IdentiKey credentials. No matter the machine, you are the admin of the device and may install whatever software you need to get your work done. Upon return of any rental we reinstall the operating system, completely removing any trace of personally identifiable information or documents left behind on the computer.
