CU Boulder Today to email once a week
Beginning the week of June 17, CU Boulder Today will move to a once-per-week email schedule through the week of July 8.
The faculty-staff and student editions will send on the following Tuesdays: June 18, June 25, July 2 and July 9. We will return to the twice-weekly schedule July 16.
Stories and information will post on the website throughout the week.
Earn $50 to participate in programming research study
The Institute of Cognitive Science is looking for volunteers to participate in a research study investigating the trustworthiness of computer code. Participants should have at least four years’ experience with coding and experience with the C programming language. The experiment will take approximately one hour and will take place on Main Campus in Muenzinger Room D 424.
Participants will be compensated with a $50 American Express gift card for their participation.
Requirements to participate:
- You must be between 18-65 years old.
- You must have experience with C.
- You must have four years’ experience with programming.

Scheduling participants will be coordinated by Professor Leanne Hirshfield from the Institute of Cognitive Science at CU. If you can participate, please email Hirshfield’s research assistant Lucas Hayne at lucas.hayne@colorado.edu, indicating two potential time slots that would work for your schedule.
Participants needed for dance research study
The Neural Control of Movement Laboratory on Main Campus is conducting a study that examines the effect of electrical stimulation on improving single-leg balance in experienced dancers.
The study will consist of:
- One familiarization session (~30 minutes)
- Two evaluations (~2.5 hours) before and after interventions
- Training history, balance, strength and steadiness
- 12 interventions (~30 minutes per session)
- Three times per week for four weeks

Earn $15 for participating in a research study on memory
We are looking for individuals to participate in a research study on memory. The study will take approximately 90 minutes and participants will receive $15 for their time.
Participants requirements:
- Ages 18–40
- Able to read and speak English
- No history of brain injury, neurological or psychiatric disorder
- No severe cognitive or psychological problems
This study is designed to learn more about the different ways that people can manipulate information about which they are currently thinking, including keeping that information in mind, manipulating it in some manner, and removing that information from your thoughts.
For parents: Cognitive Development Center offers fun research projects for kids
The Cognitive Development Center in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking for children ages birth to 13 years old who are interested in playing games that will help teach us about self-control, language and cognitive strategies.
A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 60 minutes. Babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel and kids receive a fun prize.
