The Emotive Computing Lab at CU Boulder is looking for participants for a study of an educational video game called Physics Playground.
You are eligible to participant in this research study if you:
In this study you would first answer some questions about your pre-existing knowledge, then you would play the game Physics Playground for about an hour. After you are done playing the game, you would answer some more questions.

Showcase your art in the heart of campus!
The Student Arts Program collects original art created by the CU Boulder student community and displays it throughout the UMC and the Environmental Center. This year, the Student Arts Program is collaborating with the Environmental Board to expand its call for submissions to include pieces that acknowledge and celebrate the impactful work of those in marginalized communities/identities.
We are looking for original pieces in the following media: painting, drawing, sculpture, textile and photography/film/technology. Submit by Jan. 31. Awards will be given for top submissions.

The CU Boulder Learning Assistant Program is accepting applications for spring 2021 through Nov. 9. We have created a virtual, asynchronous Learning Assistant info session that includes videos to help students learn more about the experiences of current LAs and what to expect from each department.
Learning Assistants (LAs) are undergraduate students who are hired to support student learning through research-validated teaching and learning pedagogical techniques. LAs are paid a stipend to work 8–9 hours per week.
The Center for Research Data & Digital Scholarship (CRDDS) offers a full range of services and educational opportunities including workshops, talks, and consult hours, that are free and open to all students, faculty, and staff. We are here to support your data-intensive research and education needs.
Need advice on data-related issues? Meet virtually with experts during our drop-in consult hours for help working with all forms of data, coding in R and Python, exploring computational and digital humanities methods, using CU Research Computing resources and publishing data and open access scholarship.

CU's student club for LGBTQ+ STEM students, oSTEM @ CU Boulder, needs volunteers for their upcoming Out in STEM Symposium. Volunteers get a free Out in STEM Symposium T-shirt!

Research Roundtable for LGBTQ+ Graduate Students and Undergraduate Students with Research Experience: Give a five-minute presentation to an audience and share a few thoughts on your LGBTQ+ experience in STEM.

We are hosting affinity groups for intersectional identifies in STEM, and we are looking for hosts for these affinity groups! To host, you must be LGBTQ+ and have one of the following identities: PoC, femme/woman, individual with disability or graduate student. Hosts will help foster community by making sure all participants have an opportunity to introduce themselves, provide conversation topics and remind participants of times.

Boulder County residents who have been impacted by the Cal-Wood and Lefthand Canyon fires can get help with a range of needs from a newly opened Disaster Assistance Center. Services include food and health coverage assistance, help with transportation and clean-up and debris removal, and mental health supports.
The bilingual Disaster Assistance Center will operate virtually each weekday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Friday, Oct. 23. Residents who were evacuated because of the fires can call 303-441-1206 and leave a message. An experienced specialist will return the call as quickly as possible.
