A fun and easy way to introduce your child to Shakespeare’s captivating stories! CSF staff (Amanda Giguere and Tamarra Nelson) will bring the magic, the mystery and the adventures of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "The Odyssey," "Pericles," and "The Comedy of Errors" to life! Storytime sessions will encourage movement, play and active exploration, whether virtual or in person.

In-person sessions (Tuesdays) will be held outdoors, on CU Boulder's campus, with masks and physical distancing required for all participants. Bring a blanket, water, some sunscreen and be prepared for all kinds of weather! Virtual sessions (Wednesdays) will be held on Zoom. Maximum of 10 participants.

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival invites students ages 12–18 to virtually study Shakespearean acting techniques with CSF professionals!

Each two-hour training session will feature a member of the CSF Company or a rockstar from the larger theater world. Guest artists will share their favorite tips and acting exercises to help you strengthen your own performance skills.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival staged and filmed these two small-cast productions in the Mary Rippon Theatre in August, and have been sharing them with K–12 schools throughout the school year. For the first time ever, we’re making this innovative program available to you!

Your ticket includes:

• A link and password to either Much Ado About Nothing (45 minutes; recommended for ages 12 and up) or The Comedy of Errors (30 minutes; recommended for all ages), so you can watch the shows wherever, whenever!

• Bonus content! Both titles were developed to highlight violence prevention opportunities. Your package includes a 15-minute virtual workshop video, featuring actors from the performance, and an extensive study guide.

The CU Locomotion Laboratory is looking for subjects for a road cycling shoe study that you may be eligible for! 

Participants must:

• Be over 18 years old
• Be in good health
• Cycle (outdoors or indoors) at least four hours per week
• Have at least one year of road biking experience
• Be able to comfortably ride either a 52- or 56-cm road bike frame
• Fit a shoe size of Euro 38–39 or 43–45

Participation involves two approximately two-hour long sessions: riding a series of 50-meter sprints on an uphill road in Boulder and riding a series of standing start sprints inside the Locomotion Lab at CU Boulder. The repeat sprints will compare different road cycling shoe models.

Participants will receive one $25 Amazon gift card per 2-hour session.

COVID protocols: Participants in this study will be screened prior to participation, researchers are required to wear masks, and the testing bikes will be sanitized between subjects.

The Buff Bus will begin operating on its summer schedule beginning Thursday, May 6.

Service changes include:

• Williams Village/Bear Creek and Marine Street Express will be out of service for the summer beginning Thursday, May 6, and will resume in the fall semester.
• Stampede service will continue to operate Monday through Friday throughout the summer season.

Students, staff, faculty and the Boulder community can get a COVID-19 vaccine at a mobile vaccine clinic on Tuesday, May 4. The mobile vaccine clinic, hosted by the Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE) will be offering the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) near the Village Center at Williams Village. 

• The mobile vaccination clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• The drop-in appointments are first-come, first-served.
• COVID-19 vaccines are available for free, regardless of insurance coverage.
• No ID is required; however, you will need to fill out a paper form to receive your shot.

It’s important to get vaccinated to support your own health, but also to strengthen the community for your family and friends. If you are leaving Boulder for the summer, please sign up for a vaccine before you travel.

The Graduate School has extended the gradSERU survey to May 14 to meet its goal of receiving at least a 20% response rate. We only need 120 more students to reach this goal. Your feedback is critical in helping to improve the educational opportunities and services provided to CU Boulder graduate students.

Diploma covers for graduating students will be available at the University Memorial Center (UMC) information desk beginning Thursday, April 29 through Friday, May 14.  The UMC is open Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Please note the information desk has temporarily relocated to the first floor of the UMC. 

Please be sure to bring your Buff OneCard with you when you come to pick-up your diploma cover.  We can identify you by your Student ID number if you do not have your Buff OneCard.  Feel free to contact the Commencement Office (commencement@colorado.edu) with your questions about diploma covers. 

Diploma Name, Address and Mailing

Your diploma will be mailed to you about eight weeks after the end of the semester in which you complete your degree requirements. Please be sure to update your diploma address in the BuffPortal so that your diploma is mailed to your preferred address.  The Post Office will not forward your diploma if your address changes.  More information about graduation is available on the Office of the Registrar’s Graduation webpage. 

If you are a spring 2021 graduate, your diploma name and address can be update in the BuffPortal before the spring 2021 deadline of Tuesday, June 1 (11:59 p.m.).  Additional details about graduation deadlines is available on the academic calendar.

The CU Youth Piano Program offers piano lessons for the summer 2021. All levels and ages are welcome!

Details about the program:

• Students register for either 7 or 14 lessons this summer. Lessons can be online or in-person.
• Instructors are graduate teachers––piano majors in the master's or doctoral program who love teaching kids!
• Options of 30, 45 or 60 minutes per week.
• Scheduling is flexible depending on child and instructor availability, with the option of skipping some weeks (because of travel, etc.).
• Lessons start after May 17 and must end by Aug. 15.
• Open to children ages 6–18. All levels of experience welcome.

TEDxCU is a student-centered team that organizes a typical TEDx event, in addition to TED livestreams and TEDxCUSalon. We are looking for highly motivated and organized undergraduates who love spreading good ideas. We have openings in design, finance, marketing, media production, operations, outreach, partnerships, programming and TEDxCUSalon.

If you will be a junior or senior in fall 2021, you are eligible to apply for the executive committee. All undergraduate majors at CU Boulder are encouraged to apply! Applications for the TEDxCU 2021–22 executive committee will close at 11:59 p.m. MDT on May 5, 2021.
