Make your plan to vote on Nov. 2: National Voter Education Week

Person taking 'I Voted' sticker

National Voter Education Week takes place Oct. 4–8. Make your plan to vote on Nov. 2.

Here is a suggested plan for the week:

Day 1: Register or check to make sure registration is up to date

See Student Voting Guidelines for more info and how to register your residence hall address correctly.

Day 2: Make sure you get your mail ballot

Colorado voters are automatically sent ballots in the mail, but if you are registered in another state, check to see if they are having an election this fall and make sure you request to be an absentee voter.

Day 3: Get election ready

If voting in Boulder County, check out their 2021 Election Information page for all the pertinent dates and details. If voting from another Colorado county, check out this page to find your county to seek out local information. And, if from another state, vote.gov is a great starting place.

Day 4: Get ballot ready

If voting in Colorado, you can pull up a copy of your sample ballot here and click on “view my sample ballot.”  And just like that, you are ahead of the game!

Day 5: Know your trusted sources

The 2020 election saw unprecedented levels of mis- and disinformation. National and state election experts expect that trend to continue. Please be aware and always seek out or check information against official and trusted sources of election information, such as your local county clerk, or the Colorado Secretary of State’s office before sharing or posting with friends or family.

Register for the free Health and Wellness Summit next week

We hope you will join us for CU’s fourth annual Health and Wellness Summit Oct. 12–15.

The summit is open to CU faculty, staff and students interested in learning more about our holistic approach to health and wellness and about the programs and services available.

Students: Get your free flu shot

Medical Services provides free flu shots for CU Boulder students in a variety of locations on campus during the flu season. An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to help protect against flu. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations.

Flu shots are by appointment only. Medical Services is unable to provide flu vaccines to CU Boulder staff and faculty.

It’s compliance week

Students: You'll receive a few important reminder emails this week.

Each fall, the campus sends communications to share important information and meet federal notification requirements. Recently, students received eMemos on topics such as FERPA, discrimination and harassment, and voting. Over the coming week, you'll continue to receive annual reminders on topics concerning drug policy and conviction impacts, financial aid and the campus's safety and security report.

Job driving student to middle school in morning

I'm looking for a kind, responsible and safe person to drive my seventh-grade daughter to Louisville Middle School from Flatiron Meadows in Erie on most Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings. She has to be at school by 8:30 a.m. but could arrive a bit earlier if needed (8:20 a.m.). I'll pay $12 per trip (it's about a 15-minute drive). Please let me know if you're interested. Thanks!
