This study will help researchers understand a one-session treatment for depression. Our goal is to make brief therapy for depression work for more people.
Participating in this study involves one to three sessions at the Whisman Well-being, Health, and Relationship Functioning (WHARF) Lab in the Muenzinger Psychology Building at CU Boulder. If interested, you would first complete a brief screening questionnaire to determine your initial eligibility for the study. The first session requires one hour and 30 minutes. During this session, you will complete surveys, tasks and a brief discussion about how you think and feel. You will be given $10 for your time and may be invited back for two additional study sessions.
If you are eligible to continue, you will return for a one-hour and 30-minute treatment session. During this session you will work with a therapist to generate practical steps you can take to help improve how you are feeling. You will be asked to practice the skills discussed for two weeks and then return to the laboratory for a final visit. The last visit will take one hour and will consist of some surveys and tasks. You’ll receive $15 for attending the last two sessions.
We will contact you one month after your last visit via email with a brief survey that asks how you are feeling and your impressions of the treatment.
If you are interested, please complete a brief online screening measure.
If you are eligible to participate in this study, a member of the research team will contact you to schedule a research session. If you have questions before completing the screening or would like to learn more about the study, please contact the research team at batdstudy@gmail.com.
