New visitor parking lot availability tool

Parking Services is beta testing a new visitor parking lot availability tool to help you find available spots in our most popular visitor lots. This mobile-friendly website provides real-time updates on lot availability, ensuring quick and convenient access to parking when you need it. Since this tool is brand new, we are hoping for some feedback on how it works from our campus community members. If you use this tool, please provide feedback via the Feedback Form.

Access the parking lot availability tool, then fill out the the feedback form.

  • No current or recent (<2 months) lower-limb injury
  • No major health problems

The inclusion criteria for people with multiple sclerosis include:

  • Clinical diagnosis of multiple sclerosis
  • Able to walk with or without assistive device
  • Men and women 18–65 years old
  • No visual impairment (corrected vision is okay)
  • No current or recent (<2 months) lower-limb injury
  • No other major health problems than multiple sclerosis

College of Engineering and Applied Science making changes to Intra-University Transfer requirements

The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) is making two changes to Intra-University Transfer (IUT) requirements, effective for fall 2025 IUT admissions:

  • The minimum grade for IUT technical coursework is changing from a C to a C-
  • Students will need to be in Good Academic Standing (meaning, minimum CU GPA of 2.0)

The required CU Boulder minimum 2.700 technical GPA and all other IUT on track and admissions requirements will remain the same. Please visit the College of Engineering and Applied Science IUT webpage for more information. The CEAS fall 2025 IUT application opens May 15.

The Integrative Physiology of Aging Lab is looking for volunteers to study the potential health effects of a new type of breathing exercise (a time efficient exercise) delivered via a smartphone app on blood pressure and vascular function.

Requirements:

  • Aged 18+ years
  • Higher blood pressure (systolic BP 120–160 mmHg)
  • Own an Apple or Android smartphone
  • Willing to perform breathing exercises 5–10 minutes per day, six days a week, for six weeks

Benefits include:

  • Detailed blood panel (cholesterol, glucose, etc.)
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Monetary compensation for time

Help shape an upcoming AI event—survey deadline May 5

Earlier this month, the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot, including members of CU Research Computing and Arizona State University, hosted the AI Unlocked workshop in Denver, focused on AI tools and applications. We're now planning a smaller, campus-based version for CU and RMACC affiliates.

To help shape this next event and sign up for updates, please take a moment to complete this brief survey. Your input will help us gauge interest and identify key topics. Feel free to share it with others. The survey closes on May 5.

Remember your Buff OneCard to access buildings May 2–8

To increase campus security and safety measures, the CU Boulder campus will be locking the exterior doors to academic buildings on specific dates. Anyone with a Buff OneCard will be able to swipe into academic buildings during regular building hours, and no additional access needs to be granted.

You will need your Buff OneCard on these weekday dates to access campus buildings:

● Friday, May 2 (Reading Day) 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
● Saturday, May 3–Wednesday, May 7 (final exam period) 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
● Campus commencement (May 8)

Days may be added in case of other impactful events. Read more about building access.

Registration open for High Performance Computing Symposium

Registration is continuing from now through May 16 for the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium’s (RMACC) 15th annual High Performance Computing Symposium, set for Tuesday–Thursday, May 20–22, at the Wolf Law Building on the CU Boulder campus.

Participate in robotics research with the CAIRO Lab

CAIRO Lab is seeking participants for a human-AI collaborative study. This study takes place over two visits, each lasting about 30 minutes. You will play a video game on a computer, where you will explore a 2D environment, complete part of a treasure hunting task, and fill out surveys describing your progress and experience in the game. No prior experience is necessary.

Participants will receive $20 for completing both study visits. If you're interested, please email kaleb.bishop@colorado.edu with the subject 'Handover Study Participant' or schedule your appointment now.

Participants must be 18 years or older and must be students, staff or faculty at CU. The study will take place in the Engineering Center.

Thank you,
CAIRO Lab team

Seeking CU Boulder students for a library usability study

Currently enrolled at the Boulder campus? The University Libraries would like to hear from you.

We are looking for approximately a dozen students to participate in a remote 20-minute usability session for spring 2025. Participants will be asked to complete common library search tasks, such as looking for a book, and let us know how well the library search performs.

As a token of our appreciation for your time, you will receive a $10 Amazon gift card. Questions can be directed to Nicole Trujillo at nicole.trujillo@colorado.edu.
