The Center for Science and Technology Policy Research (CSTPR) is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a lecture by Brian Deese Sept. 28. Deese, currently a senior fellow at Harvard University, is the former senior advisor on climate and energy for the Obama administration.

Bringing perspectives gained from the White House inner circle and the center of major legislative and budget negotiations, Deese will provide an insider’s outlook on subjects relating to science and technology policy research as they relate to the future of our planet.

The event will be free and open to the public. Tickets can be secured on a first-come first-served basis.

Paris Film Global Seminar

Students can spend three weeks in May and June studying film, art and culture in Paris. Film screenings and lectures are combined with excursions in and around Paris.

Join Colorado Law for the final round of the Carrigan Cup Trial Competition at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, in Wittemyer Courtroom. A reception will follow for registered guests. Please register.

The Carrigan Cup Trial Competition is the University of Colorado Law School's most prestigious in-house competition for aspiring litigators. Two accomplished teams perform an entire trial before a panel of distinguished trial judges and trial lawyers.

The Carrigan Cup endowment was established by family and friends in honor of judge and former faculty member Jim R. Carrigan, and is often attended by members of the Colorado legal community to honor Judge Carrigan and his family, as well as the student competitors. We are grateful to the Carrigan family and friends for their generous support of the University of Colorado Law School.

In honor of the upcoming International Education Week, Nov. 13–17, Education Abroad and International Student and Scholar Services is excited to announce a photo contest that is open to our recent study abroad returnees and current international students and scholars.

Entrants are encouraged to submit a photo that reflects International Education Week’s mission of promoting international and intercultural understanding. The deadline to submit your photo is 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20. Please read the rules and eligibility requirements carefully before submitting your photo.

Each eligible student/scholar is welcome to submit one photo entry for a chance to win a first-, second- or third-place prize. Three winners will be selected from Education Abroad Alumni photo submissions, and three winners will be selected from the International Student and Scholar photo submissions. Winners will be honored at a reception Wednesday, Nov. 15.

In order to understand the effects of the university transportation behaviors on Boulder and the surrounding communities, CU Boulder collaborates with the city of Boulder to conduct a commuter transportation survey every three years.

Next week, the city of Boulder and CU Boulder police departments will step up enforcement of the city’s traffic laws in and around several of Boulder’s top locations for motor vehicle collisions involving a bicyclist or pedestrian. The Heads Up Boulder crosswalk safety campaign runs Monday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Sept. 29. Officers from both agencies will be at intersections around the CU Boulder campus, joined by Heads Up ambassadors who will distribute educational material, coupons and small gifts to reinforce the safety message.

The lead nurture and conversion specialist focuses on keeping in contact with our prospective students (leads) and nudge them toward applying and enrolling in degree and/or certificate programs and enrolling in classes.
