Fall is nearly here, y'all, and it's time to begin planning for your learning and development schedule. Human Resources welcomes faculty and staff to register for learning, development and self-care courses.
CU expanded premium access to even more online courses by securing participation in the Coursera Partner Consortium, a learning program that offers CU faculty, staff and degree-seeking students no-cost access to not just CU’s Coursera courses but to thousands of additional non-credit online courses offered by Coursera’s global network of university partners.
Using the University Libraries’ course reserves service is a great way to help students save money on required texts and other course-related materials necessary for helping them succeed.
This year's event on Oct. 12–15 will be hybrid, offering participants opportunities to attend fascinating and informative virtual presentations and panels, as well as experience in-person discussions and activities. Submit your proposal by Aug. 10.
The Research on Affective Disorders and Development Lab is conducting research on the effects of CBD on mood and behavior. We are recruiting young adults ages 18 to 30.
One group we recruit will include people who are experiencing depression. The other group will consist of people who have never had any diagnosed mental disorder.

The study takes place over the course of 6 weeks, and you will be compensated for your participation (maximum of $863–$1,038 for completing all parts of the study).

Struggling with anxiety or depression? Feeling down, hopeless or stuck in a cycle of unproductive worry? Low-cost teletherapy is available through CU Boulder’s Raimy Psychology Clinic, for individuals residing in Colorado. Sessions are held through the videoconferencing platform Zoom.
Raimy Clinic therapists can provide help coping with stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and other difficulties during this very challenging time! Special low rates are available for all CU Boulder students, staff and faculty, or family members of full-time staff or faculty. Openings for new clients are available now. The Boulder Police Department is currently updating its long-term plan. This plan will outline a new vision, as well as the strategies necessary to achieve this vision gradually, with changes expected within the next three to 10 years.
The city is seeking community input to ensure this plan reflects the variety of perspectives and needs that exist in Boulder. Feedback for this first phase of planning will be accepted from June 8 through July 31, 2021.
We are a conducting research study on political discussion, and the purpose is to understand how individuals think about and talk about candidates during a political campaign. The study is titled, “Conversation During Political Campaigns” and it has been approved by CU’s Institutional Review Board.
We invite faculty and staff to participate in one of several sessions that will be held on Zoom over the next couple weeks. The session will take approximately one hour and we are offering a $20 Amazon gift card as compensation for participation. In order to participate, you should be comfortable using Zoom and have access to a working webcam at the time of the session. We will not be recording the sessions, but you will be interacting with other participants.

The Emotive Computing Lab at CU Boulder is looking for participants for a study of eye movements and brain activity during learning.
You are eligible to participate in this research study if you:
The study requires one visit of between 2 and 3 hours to the lab on CU Boulder’s East Campus (1777 Exposition Drive, Boulder, CO 80309; see COVID-19 safety procedures below), plus one 30-minute follow-up questionnaire to be completed online.
The first visit will involve having your eye movements, physiological responses (e.g., heart rate), video of your face/upper body, and brain activity non-invasively recorded while you complete a computer-based reading task and answer several questionnaires. It will take approximately 2 to 3 hours, and you will be paid $20 per hour for a total of $40-60.
About a week later, you will complete a 30-minute online survey; upon completion you will receive an additional $10. Note that travel compensation is not provided.
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will also need to provide consent.
We will take utmost care to ensure your safety for the duration of the visit, with stringent procedures approved by CU administration.
Payment will be via an Amazon gift card.
