Interview about experiences with online therapy

We are searching for community members to participate in a 45- to 60-minute phone or Zoom interview to talk about their experiences with online therapy. In particular, we are looking for individuals who:

  • Have used or are using online therapy services at a community-based organization
  • Identify as a member of the Latinx community
  • Are older than 18 years old
  • Speak English or Spanish

Participants will be compensated $20 for their time.

Healthy men, women needed for study on effects of night shift

Researchers in the CU Anschutz School of Medicine are looking for healthy men and women to study the effects of night shift work on bone metabolism.

You may qualify if you:

  • Are 20–40 years old
  • Not pregnant
  • Habitually sleep 7–9 hours per night
  • Haven’t done night shift work in the past year
  • Do not currently smoke

Involvement includes: 

  • Measurements of bone mineral density
  • Completion of sleep questionnaires/assessments
  • Sleep with a simulated night shift schedule
  • General physical exam
  • Activity monitoring with a wrist monitor
  • Blood/urine collection
  • Arterial line placement
  • Two inpatient stays (four nights each)

Participation in the study will last up to six weeks (including two four-night inpatient stays). Participants will receive up to $1,500 and a FitBit for their time.

Grad students: Check these deadlines for submitting incomplete courses, master’s theses

April 18

Grade changes for doctoral students must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous or current semesters.

April 19

Master's thesis plan students must submit the thesis and Thesis Approval Form by this deadline. The thesis must be submitted electronically for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The Thesis Approval Form (TAF) must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement.

Medical Services designated LGBTQ+ HealthCare Equality Top Performer

CU Medical Services has received an evaluation of 95 out of 100 and the designation of “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Top Performer” in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 15th anniversary edition of the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey of health care facilities on policies and practices dedicated to the equitable treatment and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees.

A record 906 healthcare facilities actively participated in the 2022 HEI survey, and 251 of those earned an “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Top Performer” designation.

Call for nominations for the Excellence in Teaching with Technology Award

The ASSETT Excellence in Teaching with Technology Award is presented to an Arts & Sciences faculty member (of any rank) who has been nominated by their peers and/or students. To nominate an individual, complete the online form no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 16. Peers and students are encouraged to submit nominations; nominations of early-career faculty members are especially welcome.

Don't miss the April 12 defense, exam and thesis submission deadlines

Important defense/exam and thesis submission deadlines are approaching for spring graduates on April 12:

  • PhD students must submit the dissertation with Thesis Approval Form by this deadline. The dissertation must be submitted electronically for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The Thesis Approval Form (TAF) must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement.
  • PhD and DMA students must fill out the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) online by this deadline. See additional information about the survey.
  • Master's students must complete the thesis defense or final examination by this date. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School by your academic unit two weeks before the exam on an examination report form. Certain units do not require an exam for non-thesis students. Please contact your department with any questions.
