Mesa of Sorrows: Archaeology, History, and the Ghosts of Awat'ovi

Historian, anthropologist and award-winning author James F. Brooks will examine one of the most important events in the early historic period in the American Southwest. Brooks’ interdisciplinary research on the indigenous and colonial past explores complex interactions between the native people of the Southwest borderlands and subsequent intruders, probing divisions of gender and class within each group.
