RTD has added a new bus route (236), providing faculty, staff and students mid-day service between campus, Table Mesa Park-n-Ride and Boulder Junction at Depot Square via U.S. 36 and 28th Street when the Flatiron Flyer 4 (FF4) express bus isn't running.

The 236 runs every 30 minutes with stops at 28th and Walnut streets and 28th Street and Arapahoe Ave.

• Southbound: 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Northbound: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The CU Boulder Psychology Department is seeking participants for experiments about learning, memory, perception and language. Subjects will be compensated up to $15 per hour.

The Neural Control of Movement Laboratory, located on Main Campus, is conducting a study that examines the effect of electrical stimulation on improving single-leg balance in experienced dancers. Subjects will be compensated with an electrical stimulation device.

Participant requirements:

• Dancer between 18–35 years of age with
• Five or more years of technique-based dance training
• Healthy and free of neurologic disease

The study will consist of one familiarization, two evaluations and 12 treatment sessions, meeting three times per week for four weeks.

• First visit: Familiarization session, about 30 minutes
• Evaluations: Before and after treatment, about 2.5 hours
• Training history, balance, strength and steadiness
• Intervention, about 30 minutes per session

Starting Sept. 12, the CU Boulder Chapter of Ritmos Latinos, a recognized student organization, will offer classes in basic salsa every Tuesday night throughout the fall semester.

Come join us at the Dennis Small Cultural Center and learn to dance both partner and rueda-de-casino style salsa. There’s no charge, and you don’t have to bring a partner. Classes are open to all members of the CU Boulder student, staff and faculty community. Feel free to bring a friend!

This is a 5-hour study broken up into two sessions (2.5 hours each). Compensation is $10 per hour, plus a $15 dollar bonus upon completion of the second part ($65 total). In the first session you will wear a cap with sensors that records the electrical activity on your scalp (EEG) while reading sentences and answering questions on a computer screen. In the second session, you will do various tasks on a computer (without the EEG cap). The requirements for participating in the study are that you are: right-handed, university student or recent graduate, native English speaker (English primary language from age 5 to present), ages 18-35, not taking psychiatric medications, and have normal or corrected to normal vision. Our lab is located north of East Campus at the Center for Innovation and Creativity (CINC), 1777 Exposition Dr.

The class focuses on voice, text and movement techniques that professional actors use to create compelling Shakespeare performances, culminating in a final performance for friends and family on the last day of class.

BSI (Biological Sciences Initiative) Scholars is a funding and professional development program for current CU Boulder undergraduates.

Eligible students conducting original STEM research are paid to work in a laboratory on the CU Boulder or CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Students also attend seminars to enhance the research experience, and summarize their findings through a presentation at the end of the term.

Applications for the 2017–18 academic year are due Monday, Sept. 18, for students who have not previously received funding through BSI.

Do you know someone looking for an opportunity who would like to join our Facilities Management team? We are looking for two individuals who will work at the Distribution Center, helping with the processing and delivery of incoming mail and packages and other duties as assigned.

These will be classified, temporary positions at 40 hours per week and could last several months or longer (but no longer than nine months). The starting wage will be $14 per hour. There is a possibility there will be a full-time permanent position that the individuals can apply for later.

Here is a basic outline of what we are looking for in a candidate:

• Minimum six months experience in materials-related work, which could include warehousing, material handling, shipping, receiving, storing, inventory tracking and/or distribution of goods
• Good work ethic, dependable
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment
• Experience working directly with customers/clients (may make deliveries to various campus departments)
• Colorado drivers’ license
• Will be required to pass a criminal and motor vehicle background check
• Must meet General Physical Demands definition of Very Heavy: "Exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects"

Join CU Boulder researchers Carol Ann Kearns and Diana Oliveras for a free event at the Museum of Natural History: Bumblebees of Boulder County. They will discuss the life history of bumblebees, their role as pollinators and their conservation status in Colorado.

Come learn how to recognize and identify some of the more common bumblebees found in Boulder and how undergraduates from CU Boulder's Residential Academic Programs (RAPs) help conduct insect surveys.
