Has your child experienced the joy of participating in a CU Science Discovery camp or class? Participation in a Science Discovery summer program inspires kids of all ages to explore topics they’re interested in, facilitate connections with like-minded peers, develop critical thinking skills through inquiry-based instruction, and foster a lifelong love of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Science Discovery is offering a variety of K-12 summer camps and high school classes June 5–Aug. 4.
K-8 camps
K-8 summer camps, offered in week-long, full- and half-day formats, provide an eclectic mix of engaging, hands-on experiential learning activities designed to inspire exploration beyond the classroom.
Free lunchtime supervision is provided for all full-day camps at the same location—this includes camps that are scheduled as full-day camps (e.g., 9 a.m.–4 p.m.) and those that are taken together to comprise a full day (e.g., a 9 a.m.–noon camp and a 1–4 p.m. camp). Simply send your child with a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration, and Science Discovery staff will provide the supervision!
High school classes
High school classes are one to two weeks in length and designed to connect and expose motivated teens to:
- CU researchers, faculty, labs and cutting-edge science taking place at CU Boulder and CU Anschutz
- Museum spaces, equipment and resources
- Campus life and the possibility of a future at the University of Colorado
Instructors are passionate, knowledgeable and experienced in their area of instruction and are eager to share that with their students. Students often report feeling grateful for the knowledge gained through their experience with Science Discovery, express appreciation for the insight they were able to gain into STEM-related career paths and look forward to the possibility of attending the University of Colorado.
